[...] I’ve admitted in the past that I have a secret love for canned soup casseroles, but it has been years since I’ve made one at home because I just don’t cook that way anymore. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’ve missed them, and from time to time, I think about how I might put one together without adding a can or three of that sodium-laden, over-processed cream-of-whatever to the mix.
well, my personal food choices are never anywhere near as poetic as yours are, but I laughed when I read this, because I just had Sapporo Ichiban ramen noodles last night--the miso paste flavor!!!! I usually go for the 15 cent varieties (that's midwest price, not NYC price, ha ha) and decided to splurge this time for the 59 cent version--and wondered the whole time if it would be that much better . . .

I am happy to report that it WAS definitely worth the extra 26 cents--different texture of noodles, and I really liked the miso paste flavor . . . but what is funny to me is that it was SO good that I pulled out my camera and took pictures so that I could blog about it (and I'm not normally a food blogger!) great minds think alike!

oh hell yeah! I had totally missed that I'd been tagged!! Yippe! I love embarassing myself for the entire interweb to see ;-)
I love stuff on fries too. There was a place in Philly when I was in college that would deep fry jalapenos and onions with the fries and then smother them in cheese and gravy. DELICIOUS.

Hillary - those Irish Nachos sound AWESOME! The chili cheese fries at BLT burger here in NYC are similar, waffle fries topped with beef and bean chili, cheese, corn, jalapenos, and sour cream. They're sooooooo goood!

Cee - I am a massive dork for Coneys! I can't tell you how happy it made me that they put a National in the Northwest terminal at DTW - though it's not the same as going down to Lafayette Coney. :D

Anita - take your time!

hikalu - I love getting ramen in restaurants (in fact, there is a new one our Japanese neighbor recommended highly that I'm anxious to try), but I love the packaged ramen. :)

Karon - I have not, but my cousin made this dish that was topped with moistened Stove Top stuffing mix... which, predictably, I LOVED. :D

Amy - I can't wait!

You mean I have to narrow the list to five?! Heh...

Just give me a few days. You'll see the horror show when I'm back in town. :)

Wow, I've expected that you know an instant ramen like Sapporo-Ichiban. I loved instant ramens when I was kid. I hardly eat it now though. I feel kinda nostalgic. There are lots of instant ramens you wouldn't imaged in Japan. Well, I prefer eating ramen in a ramen restaurant.
