Uh, that's weird. That previous comment and this one are both from Dietsch, not from Jen.

OOOHH It looks awesome! I really need a vacation... badly. Very, very badly. Oh well.

This is my first Thanksgiving with my boyfriend. We're not flying home to Reno for family time, nor are we going back for Christmas, so this is my first holiday challenge.

In the past, I couldn't ever experiment with new dishes or anything. My family sticks with boring meal plans. Turkey...green bean casserole-crap...yams with marshmallows on top (ew)...etc etc. It's really quite boring.

This year, I am doing a full turkey only for the sake of having some leftover for meals later in the week. It was going to be just cedar planked turkey breasts, but I couldn't find just breasts and I didn't want chicken, so big, dumb turkey it is!

I also plan spiced, whipped sweet potatoes with cinnamon, nutmeg, and bourbon, and then red chard & pearl onions on the side. Since Thanksgiving wouldn't be right in my mind without cranberries, I'm making a homemade cranberry sauce with some chambord and fresh berries.

Hopefully, it'll turn out alright. (Oh, and a homemade pumpkin pie.. also a first for me.)
