Thanks, Claudia :) Trust me, I can understand your desperation - NYC spoiled me, and it has been a bit of an adjustment to not have immediate access to all of the goodies in Union Square!

Oatmeal Cookie Guy - Hi and welcome! I generally spend a bit of time on the weekend sketching out our meals for the coming week. I think about the proteins we have on hand, factor in whatever we buy fresh at the farmers' markets or elsewhere, and then write down an outline for the week. Nothing is set in stone, but I like having a general idea of what our meals are going to look like, and I also like to leave some flexibility in there, so if, for instance, something that I had taken out to thaw from the freezer isn't quite ready for the night I had planned, I can swap in a meal from later in the week in its place. I'm not sure if that makes any sense - but it has worked for us. :)

Marie - Thanks! It's coming, I know it is... now I just wish it would stop RAINING!

How far in advance do you plan your menus and shopping? I'd like to cook dinners like this more often--really I do. But by the end of the day it's just so much easier to pick up a prepared salad and a package of prebreaded and cooked chicken breasts...
