Hi, love your blog, what a great title! Welcome to Providence (a little belatedly...) I don't know if anyone's told you, but if you are having bagels in Providence, the only place to get them is Bagel Gourmet (think that's the name), on Brook St. It's between Charles and Power Streets on Brook...It's in a little tiny row of stores, there's a laundermat, a police substation, a convenience store, and the bagel place. It's the only place in Providence to get a decent bagel. Lots of Brown students on weekends for their egg sandwiches, but I can't vouch for those!

Jen, I just don't trust other people with my oatmeal -- steel cut oats, pan, water, salt, at night. Bring to boil. Shut off. Cover. In the morning, bring to boil, cook for 2 minutes, done. As far as I know it's the only way to cook steel cut oats in 3 total minutes. Fab.

And how do you feel about Kettle chips? Particularly the salt and vinegar kind? Seriously, it's like they have crack in them. Sour, crunchy crack.

Oh, that's so great. It's nice to see that someone can cook this beautifully (and with food this wonderful) and still eat plain ol' toast for breakfast and cafeteria lunch w/ chips. What a refreshing lack of pretension!
