I passed by Bandol during a road trip a couple of years ago, I wish I had taken one of those beautiful bottles with me, this definitely brings back nice memories.

Hey, when you make a casserole like this, do you saute the veggies first? Or can I just put them straight in the oven?

I choose culinary therapy over retail therapy anyday...but especially when I've had one as you've described! There's something about making something to soothe your soul after a horrid day that is so gratifying in so many ways! This sounds fabulous & thanks for the tip on the rose! I was hesitant to try roses before I went to Italy...too many bad memories of gut-wrenching "White Zins"!! I doubt you'd be able to find one of my favourites in your neck of the woods. It's from a small local winery in the Okanagan (wine country in British Columbia, Canada, 3 hours from Vancouver), "Joie Farm" . If you ever come across it, do try...I think you'd like it...dry, fruity...yummy!

An ordinary mortal after a commute like that would have said "screw dinner," opened that bottle of wine, and ordered out for pizza. What a wonderful meal you made instead!
