that cheese is really, really something. J, sorry i am a bit late to the party, but is Cook&Brown a joint venture (w the Chef) you and your husband are embarking on? you had mentioned it in your last, evocative post, but i didnt know the details behind Cook&Brown. i wish you all the luck and best wishes in the world. x shayma

small bites – Thanks! it won’t be long now – they’re hoping to open on March 17th!

shayma – Thank you! That cheese was fabulous – our friend Louella is such a wonderful cheesemaker. As for C&B, my involvement is minimal, as in I’m just the barman’s wife. :) Mike will be managing the bar and slinging drinks most nights they’re open (brunches as well), but the restaurant is really the baby of chef Nemo Bolin and his wife Jenny, who will be managing. They’re wonderful people and we’re just thrilled to be along for the ride.

Hooray! Weekend Eats! I’m so happy for you guys. And holy cow, I threw out a gigantic bag of old miso in our move two months ago that had sat for way too long in the fridge. Too bad I didn’t have the chicken recipe before hand.

I guess I’ll have to pick some up for next week. :)

Hi there, Weekend Eat & Drinks, I’ve missed you! What type of cheese is that? Cow? Goat? Sheep? How long is it aged? Beautiful color and consistency.

Sure wish I was up in RI to try out Cook & Brown when it opens. In the meantime, I’ll continue to enjoy your photos. The first cheese looks amazing. Served with some wine – maybe champagne, even – and slices of apple or pear, I’d be all set.
